Huntington Beach will be the latest city to activate their citizens like never before using their MyHB mobile app. City officials found out that 40% of traffic to the city’s website was from cellular devices. With features like Government, Beach Information, Experience HB, City News, Upcoming Events, and Services, citizens will see it easier than ever before to be associated with their city with a number of taps on their mobile device.
Residents and visitors alike can now find information about facilities, libraries, points-of-interest along with the over 100 parks, as well as information, cell phone numbers, maps and directions, along with gain access to city council agendas. They could stay informed and up-to-date on the latest happenings and upcoming events through the City News and Upcoming Events sections. The status of requested permits can be checked within the app using the permit number, APN or property address. Beach Information is just about the most visited a record of the city’s website. Now surfers and beach goers will discover beach conditions with a few taps within the Report Issue App. Beach and surf conditions offered by Surfline are fed in the app daily at 7:05am. Additional features and operations will periodically be added.
Month after month, town will have a special tab to spotlight an event or service that’s unique fot it month. Dynamic information will likely be time sensitive and ever-changing as events appear and vanish. The first such event may be the city’s upcoming airshow. The app is launching with functionality to advertise the airshow, providing all pertinent event information and including an FAQ section. Made available, will likely be parking information, and Uber and Lyft drop-off and pick-up locations. Citizens can report issues and incidents concerning the airshow that is to be received, tracked, and resolved by police and city officials, determined by issue type. The data collected will likely be valuable not only to handle the problems because they are reported but to improve upon citizen experience for those future events.
Keep an eye out to the ability to Benefit by an Issue through the app, because the city intends to replace their current issue reporting provider using the MyCivic RAI following the year.
