Concept of Spirituality

Mixing spirituality and religion is definitely an ancient practice. For reasons unknown, it is usually better to accept things after they include the force of religion. Unfortunately, comparing spirituality and religion, is a lot like comparing chalk and cheese! In case you see the above quote carefully, you will note exactly what I am talking about. Spoken about above, religion is belief in somebody else’s experiences. Not one religion on the globe, have their basis on universal experiences. These were all founded about the experiences of somebody, who lived centuries and even millennia ago! When nobody contested the claims, it had been slowly made into a law and finally religion was created.

Spirituality however, is solely individual experience based. No 2 different people are exactly the same and neither are their experiences. Hence spirituality can often mean different things to be able to people.

Till date, there is no fixed definition of amil baba. Only one thing is certain. Spirituality arises from within. It cannot have no choice but, explained nor manipulated.

Renowned spiritual leader and yoga guru, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, gave these explanation when asked about his opinion on spirituality:

“Spirituality does not always mean any particular practice. It’s a certain method of being. To get there, there are lots of activities. That is being a garden in your house. In the event the soil, sunlight or stem of your plant is in in certain manner, it won’t yield flowers, you must do something. You will need to look after those actions. When you cultivate one’s body, mind, emotions and energies to some certain degree of maturity, something more important blossoms inside you – that is what spirituality is. When your rationale is immature, it doubts everything. Once your rationale matures, it sees all things an entirely different light.”

As quoted by Sadhguru, spirituality is not practiced. It is really an experience you’re going through. Spirituality can be a journey, not only a destination. Each and every single experience you grow and become a greater form of yourself. Spirituality may be knowledge and data is power. If harnessed appropriately, spirituality could be a potent force. It can take us from the ordinary existence for an extraordinary living.

You will find there’s major myth that believing in God or any supernatural force, enables you to spiritual. It’s not true in a sense. Because an atheist and a theist aren’t different. One believes there exists God, another believes there’s no God. They are both believing something that they are not aware of.

Spirituality doesn’t need you to rely on God. It requires self-belief. Belief in oneself, one’s potential and one’s being, is that it requires.

Mountains seem like an attractive experience, to the people that do not live flanked by mountains. Ask those who live there, they’ll let you know it can be nothing extraordinary! For the kids, the town maybe a spiritual experience!
