Remember when going back to school meant buying a few notebooks, a new box of crayons, and new shoes? In case you wore a uniform to college, you almost certainly got among those too; or else, you have a few new outfits. That’s it.
Well, times have changed. The supply list now contains things that had been provided by the colleges – like scissors, glue and tissues. Every child uses a new backpack, notebooks, paper, pens (red, blue and black), glue sticks, ruler, tape, scissors, markers, folders along with a calculator. If you have two children and you also shop the sales, you may still wind up having to pay a lot more than $100.00 in supplies alone. Which doesn’t even count the brand new clothes your youngster “has to have” or perhaps the fees which are essential for art projects, lab costs, etc.
Don’t even get me started on the supplies, including furniture and appliances, your youngster needs for faculty. Can it ever end?
Here are some tips for saving cash on canvas this season.
1) Recycle – Check to see everything you currently have in your house. It is likely you have assorted crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc. already there your home. Put these together in a pencil box and that should help you save a couple of bucks.
2) Re-use – Kids believe last year’s backpack must go, however a quick trip over the appliance might give it new life.
3) Reduce – Does your son or daughter have a very notebook from this past year containing three pages of written material in it and 77 blank pages left? Would you find this notebook in the bin – or worse – the trash? Now’s a good time to talk about waste and keeping it as small as possible by getting the most use possible of all the item.
