The Miracle And The Mind: Kindness

From the third article in the series for the “miracle” and also the “mind,” we intend to bring kindness and unkindness in the discussion about specialness. In the Course in Miracles (ACIM), kindness is associated with humility and learning and unkindness is to use arrogance and specialness. The miracle-minded obviously choose humility, learning and kindness meaning they will eventually learn how to forgive all specialness that is what maintains the separation from God. Belief in separation refers to everyone who is the main one Son perceiving Himself separate and different fragments. All unkindness stems from the anxiety in the mind when we repress our fear and guilt instead of forgiving our specialness desires. We blame and project it onto other people who can be extremely an element of us actually.

There are 2 books by Kenneth Wapnick on, “The Healing Strength of Kindness.” Volume 1 is on, “Releasing Judgment” and Volume 2 on, “Forgiving Our Limitations.” For me, these ought to be required reading and continuing study for anyone who is a serious Course student. The next passage says all this:

Whenever you reserve the brilliant metaphysics of A Course in Miracles as well as its sophisticated psychological insights, the program may be pared into a particular rule: Be kind. Discover kind, then not simply do you think you’re not practicing this course, it’s impossible you can also commence to understand it. Regardless of how brilliant your understanding of their metaphysics could possibly be, if you’re not being kind toward someone else, you’re not doing what this product is asking (The Healing Energy Kindness, Vol.1: Releasing Judgment by Kenneth Wapnick, p. 10, underline mine).

Not surprisingly admonition, we insist on being unkind:

This wherewithal to truly practice A training course in Miracles’ kind principles of forgiveness which they study, or even teach, has perhaps been probably the most serious failing among its students. This book’s sequel, “Few Elect to Listen,” discusses how students often conceal their thought system of specialness beneath the guise of spiritual counseling or friendship. The absence of simple kindness is, unfortunately, unmistakable to all except the Course student making the spiritual pronouncements (The content Of your Course in Miracles: All Are Called, p. 306).

The non-dualistic specification of kindness is not understood here inside experience of dualism so long as specialness is continuously chosen since the ego arises from an unkind thought against God and Heaven. Our unwillingness to acknowledge this regarding the ego, and just what all of that thought product is capable of doing, is a thing that hinders our progress together with the Course. We should be ready to think about the ego using the Holy Spirit – the Teacher – and take that darkness to Him for forgiveness. Nothing can be hidden and that’s straight from the Course.

Kindness To Others Is Kindness To Self

In their books on kindness, Mr. Wapnick also references the source of the person’s unkind behavior is similar fear (and repressed guilt) that is certainly doing work in our own mind and that is what unites us. We have exactly the same right-mind and also the same capacity to choose between them. Determining to be kind won’t make us different or better; rather it indicates were ready to practice the “kind principles” in the Course in order that we can easily figure out how to understand everything it can be teaching. It’s only a question of priority.

He proceeds to claim that to learn how to be kind towards others, we are practicing being kind toward ourselves because, “you along with your brother are one. They are an integral part of you. You aren’t different.” This goes straight away to one’s heart from the ego’s thought system wherein the concept of difference is when the ego began – God and the Son were separate and various – and undoes it. Even the slightest hint of specialness may be the ego. What he’s saying becomes clear should you actually study and practice what type forgiveness with the Course!

A significant student with the Course would like to understand what this means. These students would prefer to be a happy learner with the only true teacher – the Holy Spirit – rather than a spiritually special teacher with the ego in any form. They are very happy to study Him the way to be free from the burdens linked to denying the facts:

Forgiveness’ kindness is obscure in the beginning, because salvation is not understood, nor truly sought for (S-2.I.1). And here you’ll lie down the responsibility of denying truth. This can be the burden that is terrible, instead of reality (T-21-VI.7).

Self versus “self” -or- Identity versus “identity”

Within the Course, there’s a contrast between the “Self” which can be our true Identity as Christ and also the “self” identity using the ego. This can be a heavily weighed to understand since the first accepts the part God gave us through being God-created; though the latter is self-created and completely dependent upon the ego along with its aim of vengeance and maintaining separation. Everyone already believes these are ego. We may not be here otherwise. To consider the possibly of the being correct as well as in need of correction restores aspire to the mind because it points to the way out.

When a spiritually special Course teacher (a kind of unhealed healer) teaches specialness from the ego, they are being unkind towards others and therefore themselves whilst they are highly unlikely to watch it doing this. Fortunately they are not likely to consider it can be kind for somebody to possess boundaries together his or her fear and guilt (and anxiety) are very great. However, honestly studying the world, we view that it must be stuffed with the fragmented Sonship that is anxiety-ridden from identifying together with the ego self. Unkindness is rampant on the globe along with this course community. As Wapnick states though, we won’t educate yourself on the Course until we decide being kind.

Our behaviors would be the tyoe of which mind we’ve chosen (God or perhaps the ego). The ego can be a vengeful and tyrannical thought system of unkindnesses whereas freedom from that is tied right to kindness:

Without anxiety your head is wholly kind (T-6.III.3).
Freedom is not learned by tyranny of any sort (T-8.IV.7).

Additionally it is unkind to improve the Course and spiritual specialness does that through competition with God thereby everyone. One small change effectually changes the whole thing of the Course, an absolute thought system. If you believe you recognize that, that you do not. Once you learn you need to do, you may be kind to suit your needs view the inherent value kindness plays in mastering and comprehending the Course. As Wapnick states, “It’s an issue of priority.”

When Kindness Calls

In conclusion, let’s turn back how to Mr. Wapnick and his awesome book, “The Message Of an Course In Miracles: Few Choose To Listen,” and also to Chapters 4 and 6 on spiritual specialness. I’ll highlight some important passages you start with a really telling quote. First, however, i want to include until this two-book set (including, “Few Choose To Listen”) should also be required ongoing study for serious Course students:

“Love is frightening because it is all-encompassing and there there isn’t any room for specialness or individual uniqueness.”

He goes on to explain anytime we’re lured to call awareness of what we think offers some deficiency, or lack, were wanting to make such limitation real and into a thing that divides the Sonship. The rock of salvation is it’s impossible to lose so another gains, i.e., nothing is to look at from another, even if it’s just their success. However, and we don’t see why until we have spent the necessary time purchased learning the words are actually correct along with their true meaning. What our bodies look like doing lets us know which internal teacher we have chosen – the ego or Holy Spirit. The ego is limitations, judgment, specialness and separation – abdominal muscles the complete opposite of the Sonship jointly.

When we’re not kind, we’re not Course students or teachers of God (this course as our path). When kindness calls, it should be chosen as kindness leads to miracle-mindedness. Unkindness is with the ego.
