LED grow lights have not one of the earlier mentioned disadvantages. An LED plant light is warm to the touch, but not so hot who’s would damage either delicate plants or perhaps the hands of an user who gets too close. As such, LED grow lights require no additional ventilation.
There are more advantages too. An LED plant light, rated at 80 watts, has an equivalent level of lighting to that particular which a 400 watt ruthless sodium (HPS) light would deliver. Over time, this is sometimes a significant saving and given that an LED grow light may last 50-80,000 hours this can soon add up to a tidy sum. Additionally, the light manufactured by an LED grow light is directional and so requires no additional, heavy, metal reflectors.
Overall, although LED grow lighting is more expensive to set up initially, they may be a superior treatment for providing effective indoor plant lighting
