A documentary in four chapters around the time of Brett Shapiro Jew, writer, homosexual. Each chapter alternates Shapiro’s life with artists, intellectuals and psychologists on four different themes: identity, writing, normality, and non-traditional families.
The documentary by Mariano Lamberti and Roberta Calandra leaves everyone breathless. Perhaps for the non-celebratory course, because of its solid and well-groomed style, the setting where the camera and eye from the spectator blend. Perhaps for the passion that breathes within the storia d’amore in quattro capitoli e mezzo, for the audacity of telling a narrative the authors never tell, along with the producers wouldn’t like to listen to it tell.
Roberta Calandra
