With the release of the newest 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 may be a thrilling year for gadget fans. All over the world, everyone is taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to post photos and videos of themselves zipping around about this 2 wheel contraption which basically appears to be a board which has a wheel on each side.
A cross between a skateboard along with a segway, this mini Segway (minus the handle) type thing is blowing up in popularity, fuelled partly through the level of celebrities that were seen on a single. From Bieber assault to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, have the ability to tried their hand with this nifty little gadget, and seem to get a large amount of fun doing this.
Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (due to it’s likeness towards the Segway, but a ‘cooler’ version) we’re not sure entirely where this particular self balance scooter originated from or who invented the initial. Almost certainly it originated from some factory in China. The very first glimpses we got than it in the media were a product or service known as the IO Hawk, a scooter that costs a whopping $1800. It was in January of 2015. Since that time many cheaper versions of the same product attended on the market and the average price currently seems to be around $500.
What makes it work? Basically you ascend to both the panels and shift the body weight slightly forward or slightly back and it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. This may also turn left or right. This self balance scooter is becoming so well received is in reality being touted as the personal mobility device for the future. Who wishes to walk when you can glide, right? Plus it’s really a lot quicker than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
