The Properties And Advantages of Argan Oil

There are many different lotions and potions accessible to look after hair and skin currently it is difficult to pick the best one. If you take a vacation to your local drugstore, you will be greeted by row after row of shelves filled with various products, all promising to work wonders that will create miracles. I think the sole way to find out which goods are best for your needs is usually to experiment and try by yourself. One of my favourites that I am using for a while might be argan oil.

Sometimes referred to as ‘liquid gold’, it’s a natural product, taken from the kernels in the argan tree which is native to Morocco. It is often used as a moisturiser as well as in products to care for nice hair. The reason is , the truth that the oil includes a high nutrient content which is abundant with essential fatty acids, anti-oxidants and e vitamin that is vital for healthy skin and hair. It is also renowned in making hair soft, silky and glossy also to help make wild hair more manageable. Other reported benefits of argan oil for hair range from the promotion of healthful hair growth, prevention of scalp dryness and itching as well as the restoration of dry and damaged hair. As being a non-greasy, easily absorbed oil it is often used as an epidermis moisturiser which may benefit dry skin particularly. It is also noted for it’s anti-ageing properties and many advocates of argan oil have stated how it aids their skin complaints including acne and eczema. I have tried personally argan oil and acne to help treat dry skin on my own elbows and knees plus it did wonders personally and left my skin beautifully smooth and soft without any irritation.

As a consequence of it’s benefits, celebrities including Jennifer aniston, Charlize Theron, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Taylor Swift are all users of argan oil to aid take care of their head of hair and skin. It’s even starting to can be found in mascara formulas because it’s claimed it helps to produce your lashes longer and more lustrous. My locks are very dry and contains a wiry texture (it almost seems like fine fishing line) and the oil in it’s pure form really helps to add moisture and softness to my hair. If you live sufficiently fortunate to get have naturally soft hair, argan oil is a nice finishing touch to incorporate extra gloss and shine.

Although finding shampoos, conditioners, hair-styling products and skincare products containing argan oil is simple, due to the oil’s rarity they are presented with a relatively high price. When i discussed earlier, the oil is obtained from the argan tree that is found in southern Morocco. The traditional method of extracting the oil would have been to collect argan fruit, dry it, extract the nuts, crack these to reveal the kernels and then to crush these to release their oil. The task was done yourself and took fifteen hours of labour and 32 kilograms of fruit to make just one single litre of oil! These days the kernels are mechanically cold pressed (heat damages the oil’s chemical properties). The tree is rare, extracting the oil is labour intensive… hence the high price. However, fortunately somewhat oil goes further.

The scarcity with the argan tree is when the challenge lies. There are many products available on the market now that contain argan oil or are marketed as ‘argan oil’ or ‘Moroccan oil’. But if you examine the label, you can find often other ingredients (for example silicon) in larger quantities compared to the actual argan oil. Cosmetic companies need to give your very best to make sure that the provision of argan oil is sustainable and also a top quality, untainted by other oils or substances.

How do you know you are receiving the real thing? Should you be getting a product containing argan oil – look at the ingredients. Look out for ‘argania spinosa kernel oil’, it needs to be up high the ingredients list and ideally, the product should contain as few ingredients as possible. The greater ingredients that the oil is mixed with, the less capable the oil will probably be. In case you are buying pure argan oil, ensure it is in the dark coloured bottle since the light passing by having a clear bottle can break up the oil’s chemical properties. Some goods that are marketed as argan oil also have a carrier oil for example olive or sunflower oil. Be conscious of the value you might be paying. Argan oil doesn’t always have to cost a fortune but as well, this is a rare oil that is labour intensive to create therefore isn’t usually sold at the ‘giveaway’ price. The most effective argan oil product isn’t necessarily the more costly fresh fruits the phrase, ‘you get everything you pay for’.
